Annual Meeting: Chairperson, Ellen Miller

Groom the next year’s Chair (Committee Vice-Chair) on a rolling basis. Audit: Chairman, Art Blanchard Members: Larry Coleman Purpose: Audit 2 years of Treasurer Records. Verify income and outgo. Benefits Protection: Chairman, Sid Curry Members: David Cowfer, Andy Cwalina, Michael French, Nick Kuehn, Charles Miller, Ellen Miller, Charles Sessions, Ed Somers, David Zigelman Purpose: Develop and implement strategies to protect retiree health benefits. Members: Andrew Cwalina, Stanley Smith Purpose: Review the Bylaws of the SRS Retiree Association each year, and to develop proposals, if necessary, for revisions to the Bylaws.
Congressional Liaison: Chairman, Joe Ortaldo
Members: Richard Davis, Nick Kuehn, Ken Cooper, Gail Jernigan, Bob Steitler Purpose: Develop and maintain regular communications with SC and Georgia congressional delegations.
Federal & Contractor Liaison: Chairman, Mike French
Members: Joe Ortaldo, Jack Roberts Purpose: Develop and maintain regular communications with DOE-HQ, DOE-SR, SRS site contractors and retiree associations at other DOE sites.
Historical Files: Historian, Judith Maddox
Members:John Church The Historian maintains lists and hard copies of SRSRA documents for record and archival purposes. Medical Interface: Chairperson, Richard Geddes Members: Ellen Miller, Judy Maddox, John Plodinec, Raam Vichare Purpose: Respond to all member issues related to medical benefits, Medicare, etc Membership: Chairman, Larry Coleman Members: Sam Goforth, Judy Maddox, Neal Smith, Ed Somers, Kent Sullivan Purpose: Maintain the membership database, process membership applications, develop and implement strategies to increase SRSRA membership and provide membership data to support SRSRA BOD initiatives.
Membership Communications: Chairman, Ed Somers
Members: Judy Maddox Purpose: Development and distribution of SRSRA Newsletter, “broadcast” communications to membership and “entry point” into the organization of any member communications regarding benefits, etc. Nomination: Chairman, Fred Cadek Members: Larry Coleman, Richard Davis, Kent Sullivan Purpose: Recruit new BOD members while establishing the expectations of their participation on the BOD. Pension Protection: Chairman,Dave Cowfer Members: Ken Cooper, Sid Curry, Andy Cwalina, Michael French, Nick Kuehn, Charlie Miller, Charles Sessions, David Zigelman Purpose: Maintain cognizance of the current state of the pension fund and develop and implement strategies to protect pension payments to retirees.
Members: Fred Cadek, Dave Cowfer, Sid Curry Purpose: Develop and implement strategies to obtain regular adjustments to pension benefits Public Affairs: Chairman, Bob Hottel Members: Fred Cavanaugh, Joe Ortaldo, Jack Roberts Purpose: Provide outreach to the local communities, the press and other stakeholders.
